Finally, 40’s

Well, my friends, I have broken into the 40’s. I have officially lost 30 pounds on the Mounjaro, but not without a certain amount of hardship. For example, I lie on my stomach for relief as I write this, as my belly hurts. I don’t know if this is a side effect of the med or an after effect of my surgery.

I have dozens of clothes that no longer fit me, and some old favorites I squirreled away that now fit, and that is always so much fun. Closet shopping. Beats regular shopping any day, and you don’t even need a credit card.

I am registered for a contemporary dance class at my daughter’s studio. First session is this Friday. I am the good kind of nervous. My balance is very weak, something I am sure I will work on in the class.

Thank God for moving forward in some aspect of life. Thank God for some semblance of control over the chaos of it all. I needed this.

If you are considering GLP-1s and already struggle with constipation, you may want to avoid Mounjaro, at least in higher doses. If you do choose Mounjaro, they tell you to drink lots of water. While I don’t drink enough clear water, I do stay well-hydrated everyday.

Water has always been a goal for me. I go through cycles where I do better with it, and then not so well. Unfortunately, I’m in the not-so-well part of the cycle, right now, and I’m sure this is unhelpful to my stomach. But if I add water enhancer, it just irritates. Even natural lemon eventually bothers my teeth.

I am a sensitive little snowflake. Ironic, given my featured photo.

Still, I am almost there, friends! I am so close to reaching a healthy weight! About 15-20 more pounds and I will be in maintenance. I am locked in. I’ve got this. I can do it!
