Fighting the 50’s

Okay, so the only attributes that really resemble me are the hair, glasses and awkwardness, but as far as I know, I’m the only one keeping score.

Yes, my friends, after six long months and a ride on the Mounjaro train, I have made it into the 150’s. I am 12 weeks in on the GLP-1, and have lost 20 pounds.

However, right now I am very plateaued, having landed in the fabulous 50’s.

I see definite changes in my body. My hourglass shape has reemerged—my waist is more defined. My face is more angular, less round. Even my arms look somehow leaner to me. I’ve lost inches on my hips, waist, and bust. Indeed, this is possibly the best I have ever looked at this particular weight. It’s amazing what a little bit of conditioning will do.

I don’t imagine having to lose a whole lot more weight in general, at least to look better. Certainly not more than 25-30 pounds. But maybe even less than that. I strength train. So I know I have muscle mass.

I don’t know about a higher dose of the Mounjaro, because the side effects would undoubtedly increase. I wonder about switching to a different medication. This might be enough to jumpstart me back into motion.

Anyway, folks, I’m happy to have gained the ground I have. Since January of 2025, I have lost 60 pounds. And, all told, it’s been a relatively slow process, which is not a bad way to lose weight.

In WW, they tell you “progress is not linear.” With that in mind, I’ll keep plugging away.
