I way overate. Fell asleep on the couch. Overslept. Did a ton of dishes. Some other overdue chores. Now it looks like I wonât be in until around six.
At least the scale wasnât terrible, compared to what I expected.
I feel birthday-hung over, though. Is that weird?
âIs That Weird?â should be the next name for my blog. I feel like I say it all the dang time.
I was too tired to list out what I received for gifts yesterday, even though the post had âpresentsâ in the title.
I got a Barnes and Noble gift card, two TJX gift cards, a âBest Daughter-in-Lawâ coffee mug, a personalized Mama poem, and an assortment of lovely birthday cards.
I do love to shop. Oddly, though, I do not like malls. Youâd think I would, but, no.
I did when I was a kid. I used to love going with my mom when I was a little girl. Then with my friends as a teenager. Then with Chloe as a young adult. Now I avoid them at all costsâno pun intended.
But my favorite are the cards. Like the funny homemade one I posted. Theyâre such creative kids.
Desmond also wrote me a poem: âM is for Mama.â In which the M and the A are describing words. Then he wrote: âControl Pâ and rewrote the M and A words a second time to make the word âMama.â Very clever. Very cute.
And Aislyn, so precocious, sweet, and kind in her letter to me. Like me, she wears her heart right out on her sleeve. And she is just so full of love. I hope she stays this way forever.
And Derekâs card, as always, was beautiful, well-chosen, and I had all I could do not to cry.
Oh, man. I have to go. Going to be late. Get a dang point.
Have a wonktastic Wednesday. Yes I am making up words, now. Stay out of trouble. Drive safely. Thanks for reading. â¤ď¸đ
I bet Cecile Strong would like the TJX cardsđ
