I’m cleaning up the entryway as well as I can. We have too many shoes and for some reason, they all need to be by the door. Even sandals?
You can see in photos how hard I’ve tried to set up systems. Two shoe racks. Coat rack. Cubby for the kids. But for some reason, the systems I try to implement are seldom followed.
It’s because I don’t have buy-in, I guess.
How do I get that?
Haven’t I already expended enough energy devising and putting procedures into place? There’s only so much I can reasonably do.
The chest of drawers in the hall? I’m cleaning it out. There is so much unused space in that thing! We could put all kinds of odds and ends in there: batteries, tape, stationery, reading glasses, pens, markers, magnets… that’s probably what I loved about it in the first place.
I guess after the hallway, the living room will be next. I’m not looking forward to it.
I’ve found no tangible evidence of our “guest,” so far. But I know it’s there, and so do both the cats. And I’d rather not spend a lot of time in the same room with it, if I can possibly help it.
I’ve eaten so much Carb Smart Breyers Frozen Dairy Dessert that I don’t want any dinner. I feel like butt.
Okay. Back to it.
