I’m looking for and thinking of ideas for dinners. Desmond read my post about no more ordering out and bummed hard.
I told him we should be cooking more. We’re ordering too much, spending too much, and I’m gaining too much weight.
Derek has always done the cooking, but I can start cooking, too. I should, anyway. Part of being an adult is being comfortable cooking.
It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that I get discouraged. I used to have certain recipes I’d make when I felt like I had time. But I’ve never really had to cook for anyone.
It’s just like anything else. You can learn it with practice.
Other tasks I’ve never had to do on my own?
- Shovel snow
- Taxes
- Put air in my tires
- Change my oil
- Troubleshoot
- Manage a flood
- Pest removal—a huge one for me, as I fear critters
I have; however, cut my own hair—successfully, removed head lice from my own head (you’d be surprised how difficult it can be), built and fixed furniture, and contacted pest services and AAA.
That’s right. All on my very own.
