More Analytics Fun

I’m trying to learn more about my analytics. It’s hard when the visitor locations that come up are not always accurate. Like, the IP address is associated with the service provider location; not necessarily the physical location of the visitor, and I already know that.

I’m trying to tease out demographic information on specific visitors.

The program doesn’t do a very good job of cross-device tracking. It counts my phone, my laptop, and one of my older phones as three separate users.

And each device tells me it’s in a different city and state. Only one is correct.

It has a lot of limitations like that. But I’ll bet I could correct them if I knew how to configure my settings the right way.

I wonder what Evan knows about analytics. He’s a computery guy. Maybe he could help me.
