Phew!

I’m hot. What else is new?

It’s been much busier today. We had a new guy start yesterday. Let’s call him James. Or J for short. He’s a nice kid. English is his second language, I think, but he speaks it very well.

I wonder what it must be like to be bilingual. I was very good at foreign languages in school. French, Spanish.

Well, I guess Ray must’ve broken the silence seal yesterday, cus now he acknowledges me when he walks by. Which is good. Honestly I didn’t think it would ever happen, because he’s known me since March.

I feel better about the whole thing. I thought my head was going to explode from the awkwardness between us.

Now everyone in the WH talks to me. Well, except the girl upstairs (I know her name). And kinda her boyfriend.

I’m pretty good at discriminating between when people like me, when they don’t really care one way or the other, and when they don’t. I think those two just don’t care. I can live with that. They’re young, anyway.

Except Ray, I guess. I guess I must’ve been wrong about Ray.
