On the Other Hand

I’m taking another break, because there’s been a lull for a while, and I don’t really know what else to do. I think the new kid was looking for something to work on, too, because he asked me if I needed help with anything.

“I got nuthin,” I said.

I even swept, and my hands don’t like it. But I did it to look busy.

I also have a headache right now.

I thought maybe I might look cute today. But I don’t.

At this point, I don’t buy clothes that flatter me, because nothing does. I buy the least unflattering clothes I can find.

It’ll be okay, though, because I’m finally going to do this, now. I’m going to get my body back—and keep it. And everyone will say, “Wow, she really did it.” Or just, “Wow.” Wow’s good, wow’s perfect, I’ll take it.

It’s a new month, a new season. A season of transformation.

Anyway, it’s occurring to me that maybe just stripping and stacking boxes does not keep one busy all day. That’s probably why they want to give me more responsibilities. But that’s a good thing.

Maybe a lot of production took today off, so the demand for boxes is lower than usual.

Ah, screw it. It’s 11:00. I’m just going to eat my lunch now.
