Yay, I’m home. And sitting. I finished my boxes at light speed today, fastest ever, I think. I did start setting up slightly early. But, still!
I doubt I got the Hutch admin assistant job; I feel like I’d know by now, if I had. The interview was Tuesday, they only had three candidates, and were hoping for a quick turnaround.
I’m glad I won’t have to turn it down. Did I already talk about this job?
The lady currently in the role was at the interview, and what she described sounded so stressful to me. For one thing, I’d have to get up in front of the plant manager and his whole Gemba gang and rattle off a bunch of numbers and stats everyday. That alone would be a huge source of anxiety for me. For another, I’d have to constantly be on other people in the office for what I needed. They told me that right away.
No, I’d be more exhausted from that job at the end of the day than I am from my present one. All set.
Anyway, I think I’ve found my dream job! A store right in town needs a marketing copywriter for blogs, product descriptions, e-commerce-related tasks. They don’t open until 11 a.m., it will be a hybrid schedule, and flexible, so I can get the kids off the bus. There will be some customer service, and I will probably work Sundays and have Friday/ Saturday off. Everyone seems nice and turnover appears to be pretty low.
The store manager is writing me an offer letter, probably Sunday. I’m so excited!! YAY!!!
I haven’t given notice, yet. I figure I’ll wait until it’s official. I’m finally going to be a professional writer!
I feel like I’m not doing this news justice. Obviously I’m over the moon. I think I just don’t quite believe it, yet. It doesn’t seem possible. It took a really long time, but I’ve finally found something.
I guess good things come to those who wait.
