Weirdly Prolific

Okay, I have to be honest: I am a stats freak. Meaning I’m obsessed with my page view statistics.

WordPress has its own analytics that give you a kind of blurry snapshot of your visitors: how many visitors and views in a day, week, month, year. Country. Most popular day and time of the week, how many likes, comments, etc.

Google Analytics gives me an even clearer picture of this information. Especially when I cross reference the two.

I love this stuff. With my teacher-sort-of-behavioral background, I am a total data nerd.

And no, friends, not the hipster, ironic, dark-rimmed, cat’s eye glasses nerd. I’m the old-school, tried and true, genuine article. It has somehow become cool and cute for people to be nerds, now. While I’m happy and relieved that it seems the world has become, albeit somewhat superficially, more accepting of nerddom, I find it slightly annoying, too. It just seems like a fashion trend, to me.

I’m the real deal, folks. I’ve got the emotional scars to prove it. Anyway, I digress.

When my stats go up, I get happy. It motivates me to write more and better. So for those of you not already subscribed, keep coming, you know you want to.
